Rosacea
How is Rosacea Treated?
Here at Manor Health, we offer treatments to help with your Rosacea issues. Our experts are here to help you find the best treatment for your skin. We offer two great treatments for rosacea.
IPL therapy uses intense pulses of light to target the blood vessels and redness associated with rosacea. The light energy is absorbed by the blood vessels, leading to their gradual reduction in size and visibility. IPL can help improve the overall appearance of the skin, reducing redness and flushing. Multiple sessions with us may be required for optimal results, see our IPL Skin Rejuvenation treatment page for more information.
This treatment aids in removing the buildup of dead skin cells on the skin’s surface. This clearing allows the IPL laser to penetrate deeper and trigger quicker cell turnover. The IPL laser induces mild, reversible thermal damage by heating the skin. Subsequently, the skin responds by ramping up collagen and elastin production in the deeper layers of the dermis. This process enhances the skin’s elasticity and strength, resulting in a softer and smoother appearance.
What Is Rosacea?
This is a common chronic skin condition that primarily affects the facial skin, causing redness, visible blood vessels, and acne-like bumps. It often appears in cycles of flare-ups and remissions, and its exact cause is not fully understood.
There are various symptoms and other issues that can stem from rosacea:
Red Face – The biggest symptom of rosacea is a persistent redness of the central face, resembling a flushed or sunburned appearance. This redness can be intermittent or chronic, and it is often accompanied by other symptoms like stinging or burning sensations, papules, and pustules.
Thread Veins – Also known as spider veins or telangiectasia, these are tiny dilated blood vessels close to the skin’s surface. In the context of rosacea, they might become more prominent and contribute to the redness and visible vascular patterns on the face, often concentrated in the central part of the face, such as the cheeks and nose.
Leg Vessels – These refer to visible veins in the legs, often associated with conditions like varicose veins or spider veins. While not directly related to rosacea, these vascular issues are similar to the thread veins seen in rosacea and may share some common risk factors, such as genetics and exposure to environmental triggers.
