What Areas can be Treated with Cogs?
A Cog Thread Lift is exceptionally versatile and can be used as an effective treatment for a range of skin complaints, including the following:
- Full Face
- Cheek Lift
- Lower Face
- Jawline (Jowls)
- Male Jawline
How To Prepare For the Treatment
As this treatment is minimally invasive, there isn’t much preparation you need to carry out beforehand. However, following these guidelines will help ensure your procedure goes as smoothly as possible.
- Ensure you attend your full consultation
- Avoid alcohol for 24 hours prior to treatment
- Avoid Aspirin and Ibuprofen for 24 hours prior to treatment
How do Cogs Work?
Cogs have multidirectional barbs which fix and support the skin tissue in various directions and are excellent for lifting and tightening the skin across several areas of the face.
How Soon Will I See Results?
You will see a 50% lift immediately and a 70% lift will be seen over the next 6 months. One of the leading factors in how long it takes to see results is how much collagen your skin produces and the number of threads used.
How Long Does A Cog Lift Last?
Although results should be instant, there is minimal downtime, the Cogs will be fully absorbed within 6 months and your results should last an average of 18 to 24 months, depending on the treatment. If desired, the treatment can be repeated after 8 months.
What Can I Expect After The Treatment?
You will probably experience some minimal bruising and redness. However this should subside within 7-10 days.
You will be required to attend a 4-week review appointment and for best results, you should follow these post-treatment care instructions:
- Avoid touching the area for 4 hours
- Avoid alcohol for 24 hours after treatment
- Avoid physical exercise and spa treatments for 2-3 days after treatment
- We advise against holidays for 3 weeks post treatment
