If you are being affected by age spots or other similar issues such as pigmentation and sun damage, our wide range of treatments will help lighten or remove these skin conditions. See how we can help below, or contact us online for a consultation today.
IPL laser is an effective treatment to improve pigmentation and sun damage. Intense pulsed light is absorbed into the affected area, destroying the damage, providing a more even complexion free from pigmentation.
CO2 laser resurfacing is a safe and efficient laser treatment that effectively ablates old skin tissue containing the pigmentation/sun damage. As the new skin cells form, the skin will appear brighter, tighter and pigmentation will either reduce or disappear depending on severity.
What Are Age Spots?
Also known as liver spots, age spots are flat, brown, grey or black spots that often appear on the skin as people grow older. They usually range in size from small freckle-like dots to much larger coin-size patches. Age spots are most commonly found on areas of the skin that have been exposed to the sun over time, this could be on the face, hands, arms, shoulders or the upper back.
Pigmentation And Sun Damage
Pigmentation and sun damage are closely related to the development of age spots.
These skin conditions can be treated by us, find out what they are and how we can treat them below.
Pigmentation
This refers to the colouring of tissues in the body, and is primarily determined by the presence and distribution of pigment called melanin. Melanin is responsible for the colouration of the skin, hair, eyes, and certain other structures in the body. The amount and type of melanin present in an individual’s skin determine their skin colour, as well as variations in pigmentation like freckles and moles.
So how is pigmentation treated? This depends on the specific type of pigmentation problem and its underlying cause. There are various approaches and treatments available to address these concerns. Our main treatments for pigmentation are IPL Laser and CO2 Laser Resurfacing as mentioned previously.
Sun Damage
As the name suggests, sun damage refers to the harmful effects that prolonged exposure to the ultraviolet (UV) rays from the sun can cause. This in turn affects your skin, eyes and overall health. If you have been affected by this, some of the damage can be reversed with our professional skin treatments.
If any of these skin issues are affecting you we highly recommend looking into our various treatments. Find out more, get in touch with us today.
