PLenhyage XL is one of our newer treatments here at Manor Health. Plenhyage XL is an injectable gel that has been formulated to breathe new life into the skin and is particularly effective at reducing the appearance of scars. The gel stimulates fibroblasts and encourages cell turnover, reducing scars significantly and leaving your skin smoother than ever.

We offer co2 laser to reduce and often remove the appearance of scarring. Laser treatment works to improve skin texture and appearance by resurfacing 30% of the skin’s surface with each treatment, making it the number 1 treatment for any scarring.

What Is Scarring?

A part of your body’s natural healing process, scarring occurs after your tissue has been damaged. The skin grows new tissue to try to repair and replace what was once there in an attempt to heal the wound. Scars can occur almost anywhere on the body, with their appearances varying. They may look lumpy, sunken or discoloured and they could even be itchy or painful. All of these outcomes may be caused by how deep the initial wound was, how much damage was done and the size/intensity of the injury itself. No two scars are the same either – everybody heals differently, so it depends on the individual’s healing capacity.

Types of Scars Include:

Acne Scars – These scars are the aftermath of inflammation underneath your skin after an acne breakout, causing trauma to your skin tissue.

Surgical Scars – A large amount of surgical operations might involve incision into the skin to operate. As part of its natural healing process, the body will make a scar.

Self-Harm Scars – Healing scars from self-harm is a big step to moving on from a hard point in your life. Not only are you healing the physical scar but also moving past a low period and looking forward to brighter times. Co2 Laser as mentioned above is Manor Health’s chosen treatment for self harm scars – contact us today.
